Business and
Membership Development
· Work to enhance economic development efforts to
support Chanute
business retention and recruitment.
· Participate in SEK Day on the Hill in Topeka to
stay in contact with state legislators and keep apprised of
legislative issues.
· Represent Chanute at state-wide conferences and seminars.
· Conduct Ribbon
Cutting
Ceremonies
for new members to
help promote their businesses and welcome them to the community.
· Conduct Business After Hours events to
recognize the growth
and
accomplishments
of existing businesses.
· Conduct Business Appreciation Week activities
in
conjunction with the Kansas Department of Commerce and the City of
Chanute.
· Work in partnership with the City of Chanute, Main Street
Chanute and others
to
support local and area economic development programs.
· Hold the annual Chanute
Business Expo.
· Maintain and promote the Chamber
Gift Certificate program,
which encourages local spending.
· Host the Annual Meeting honoring
those
who contribute to the success of our business community.
· Sponsor Chanute’s
Partner in Progress Award.
· Conduct monthly luncheons for Chamber Ambassadors.
· Maintain a website for networking links
and membership information.
· Maintain Chanute promotional magazine.
Community Activities
· Sponsor legislative
coffees with elected officials.
· Hold candidate forums for local political races.
· Participate in the Neosho
County Livestock Auction as
a premium
bidder.
· Host the annual Jesse
Jackson Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast.
· Sponsor projects to provide information on current economic and other
issues
facing the community.
· Remain as a leader in Vision Chanute.
· Sponsor the annual Chamber Golf
Tournament
· Sponsor the annual Pancake Breakfast in
conjunction with Chanute’s Artist Alley Festival.
· Sponsor the annual breakfast for new USD
413 teachers.
Tourism Promotion
· Maintain city
map
and other information for distribution to Chanute visitors.
· Promote local tourist
attractions
via website, mailings, advertisements, events, etc.
· Maintain a calendar of local events.
· Represent Chanute in the annual Kansas Sampler Festival.
· Participate in area and state tourism
activities.
