Chanute Elks to host charity shoot 


Saturday, August 23rd, is the date for the Chanute Elks Club Charity Shoot '03. The shoot will be held at Elks Lake from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Proceeds from the shoot go to the Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center Horizon Hospice program.
Events include 10 stations with 50 target (meal included) for $40; 25 Rd Wobble at $10 each; two-person 25 shot flurry, $20 a team; long bird target-5 shots, shells furnished for $5 each; and a new skeet range (for practice) costing $5 for 25 shots.
Raffle tickets are also on sale for a $500 gift certificate at Cabala's and a one-night stay at Great Wolfe Lodge in Kansas City. Other events include an Elks Lodge Chili Cook-off, auction, pie baking contest and a Kansas Department of Wildlife & Park Hunter Safety Exhibit. Activities for youth 14 and under include kid's challenge games, face painting, duck pond and more. Children 14 and under require adult supervision.
