Main Street hires director
The board of directors of Main Street Chanute recently announced that Nancy Qualls has been named new director of the organization. Nancy has been a resident of Chanute for nearly 20 years and very involved in several volunteer organizations, including those associated with the First Baptist Church where her husband, Rick, is pastor. According to the Main Street newsletter, 13 applications were received and six candidates were interviewed for the job. Nancy will take over the lead position January 3rd. Main Street President Jonathan Johnson also announced that their office has moved to the Tioga Suites. Relocation to the Tioga has opened the door for the Chanute Historical Society to move forward with plans to occupy the Flat Iron building, 0 East Elm, former home of the Main Street office.
