    Dr. Martin R. Funk attended the Heart of America Contact Lens and Primary Care Congress in Kansas City on February 10th-12th. Instruction included latest information on the medical treatment of eye diseases, glaucoma management, and new techniques in contact lenses. Sara Larkin, certified para-optometric assistant, also attended.

    City of Chanute employee, Barbie Boots has been appointed to a second, two-year term on the State Advisory Committee of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas. Barbie has been employed with the City of Chanute for 24-years and is currently the personnel director.

    Unified School District #413 Assistant Superintendent Destry Brown has accepted a position as superintendent of Frontenac's USD 249. His last day in Chanute will be June 30th. Destry, his wife, Beth, and their son, Keaton have lived in Chanute nine years. Destry has served on the Chamber Board of Directors and on the Chanute Tourism Board. Congratulations to Destry. We will miss you!!
