Thank you from Iraq…

28 March 2005

Greetings from the men and women of HSC 891st Engineer BN in Iraq! I just wanted to take this time to thank you for the wonderful care packages. It was a nice gesture that has lifted the spirits of the soldiers. We have arrived in Iraq and are beginning to get the swing of things. Our missions have started and now we can begin to see how we are helping the people of Iraq. It is also nice to see how supportive the people of Iraq are to the coalition forces. Thanks you again for your care packages and support you have show us!

Daniel P. Kinney, CPT, QM

News from the Chanute Girl Scouts

Each year the volunteers who work to keep Girl Scouting available in Chanute are in desperate need of assistance from individuals who would like to work with the organization. Volunteers are needed to organize a recruitment or information event, pull together a Father-Daughter banquet, or a Mother-Daughter Tea, for girls wanting to join and find out more about the exciting opportunities available through Girl Scouts. Your ideas are welcome! The scouts would also like to be able to offer a Summer Day Camp event for all girls in Chanute. It is the duty of a Girl Scout to serve her community whenever possible. So please do  not hesitate to call if your club or organization is in need to assistance.
